Last year the weather nice and warm with over 35,000 people walking up and down Bay Avenue. This year sunny skies are a “shore bet”, once again. This one-day festival has continued to grow year by year and has become the largest single day festival down the Jersey Shore. We offer a craft show, environmental exhibits, nautical and marine displays, a food expo, four different live music venues, children's activities and so much more.
Financial support not only helps us make each year’s Bayfest bigger and better, we are also able to give back to our community . Last year we donated $5,000 to Somers Point Education for Foundation, specificity for teacher grants; $3,000 for two Mainland seniors interested in environmental studies in collage; $5,000 for new Somers Point Cheerleading uniforms; $2,500 each of the next three years to Shore Memorial; and $8,000 for an addition to the Jungle Jim at the Somers Point Beach. Past donations have included: $4,000 to help the Somers Point Police Department obtain a police dog; $16,000 to Somers Point Public Works to purchase a new generator; $1,600 for new trash cans on our bike path; $20,000 to the “Bud Kern Field,” a children and adult sports complex; $1,000 to the Commutation Arts Department at Mainland High School; $8,000 for a new children’s “Jungle Jim” on the beach; and $10,000 for the American Banners that are placed up and down Bay Ave., just to name a few of our projects.
Bayfest offers an excellent sponsorship opportunity for those businesses which want to be associated with an event which appeals to a cross section of individuals, boaters, environmental enthusiasts, craft lovers, families and others who enjoy celebrating the beginning of spring.
